Playing with free motion quilting

After spending 8 hours without power yesterday I am so very thankful to have electricity again so I headed down into the studio to play.

Today I played with some free motion quilting. This is a process which I really enjoy. I will post photos of that piece later. However several months ago I posted a blog about free motion quilting and today I took the practice piece I made and constructed a case for my Christmas present... I found that every time I took the GPS out of the window of my car I was just putting it in my purse or the glove box and decided it needed a case to protect it. I thought that using these little pieces I made to practice would be put to good use. I am happy with this case and now I need to make a safe home for my cell phone and I-pod.........

I hope all of you are having a great week.

  1. Thats a lovely idea. No one would suspect whats inside so its safe too.(Although the purse is nice enough to want to steal!)

  2. That is the most beautiful practice piece--I envy your free motion skills! How creative to turn the piece into such a practical item--love it!!
